Lower Saxony launches Culture Cloud: Cultural data managed locally, searchable centrally

    The “Culture Cloud” project is creating a cultural data infrastructure for Lower Saxony that enables data sets from museums, archives, libraries, heritage conservation bodies and research institutions to be managed locally whilst remaining searchable centrally. GWDG is leading the project and, as one of the central IT infrastructure and development partner, is providing the technical basis for the data hub, interfaces, search functions and services.     Film research platform “AVefi“ goes live

    AVefi, a new research platform co-developed by the GWDG, that links film collections across institutions and makes them discoverable, is now going live. The interested public will have the opportunity to search the collections of various archives by subject matter as well as technical criteria. In addition to traditional formats, the aim is in particular to make educational, functional and amateur films searchable and citable.
